O. Garcia-Prada: Higgs bundles and real forms

Abstract: We consider the moduli space of G-Higgs bundles over a compact Riemann surface, where G is a non-compact real form of a complex semisimple Lie group. We study several aspects of the geometry of this moduli space, including the Hitchin map. Special attention is given to the case in which the symmetric space defined by G is of Hermitian type.
