Algebraic Geometry 4

We will study elliptic curves (over fields and over more general bases) and their moduli spaces, the so-called modular curves (over $\mathbb C$, $\mathbb Q$ and over $\mathbb Z$). In the beginning I will sketch how this relates to the general theory of Shimura varieties. For more information, see the Moodle page.
