PhD student positions

We announce up to 5 positions for PhD students, starting in the fall/winter 2024 or later.

Formal announcement of the positions (in German)

Timeline. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2024, 23:59 German time. This is a strict deadline; we will not accept applications after this point in time. The deadline for recommendation letters to be sent in is May 12, 2024. We will try to take letters arriving thereafter into account, as well, but we will make decisions shortly after that date, so this deadline also should be considered strict. We intend to hold interviews on June 5 and June 6. Typically, the interviews will take place in Essen, in person; in exceptional cases, the interview could be conducted via Zoom. We expect to decide whom we can offer a position around the middle of June.
